Salutations!
I'm ecstatic for what's ahead and thankful for all that I've been through. In another 50 days I will parting from my home of Virginia. It is a sad, yet joyful fact. However, what's ahead will be an amazing time for growth, new friendships, and adventure. If you don't already know, I have committed two years to YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Maui as staff. This past year has been a time to enjoy being a student and being poured into by the full time missionaries at the base. Conversely, now I will be one of those mentors - one of the people that I as a student looked to. It is a daunting fact that puts a load of responsibility on my back, but it is through the difficult trying times that we truly grow and apply what we've been taught.
It still unknown what I will be doing as staff. As the moment of departure draws closer I will eventually know what I will specifically be doing. There is many jobs I could fill as staff and my job changes each quarter (three months). Some possibilities are working in the kitchen, office, maintenance, working with the students, and leading outreaches.
If there is one thing I can count on it is that God will totally rock my world. He tends to do that a lot, and not in ways I expect. For instance, committing two years of my life to Maui. I never would have pictured myself doing this upon completing High School! I thank God for who I am right now, and I am grateful for everyone in my life that has enabled me to do this work in YWAM.
More to come soon...
